Lisa Livingston

Since her first Chrysothemis in Elektra – she was nominated for this role as “singer of the year” by the Opernwelt –Lisa Livingston sang further performances in other new roles on important national and international stages. In June 2000 she performed Lady Macbeth in the new production of Macbeth at the Basel Theatre and in July Odabella in Verdis’s Atilla at the International Danube Festival. In 2001 she sang Helmwige in Die Walküre at the Semperoper Dresden as well as Aidia at the open air Theater Regensburg. Her debut as Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer in Chemnitz, Waltraute in Die Götterdämmerung at the Grand-Théatre in Geneva, her first Abigaille in Nabucco at the St. Gallen Theater and her performance as Ariadne at the San Francisco Opera as well as Leonore (Fidelio) in Geneva were the highlights of the season. In summer 2003 she covered Senta at the Festspiele in Bayreuth. 

In the season 2003/2004 she sang, among others, the following productions: Turandot in St. Gallen and Freiburg, Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) in Freiburg and Abigaille in Nabucco in Bern. In 2005 she sang Leonore (Fidelio) in Geneva. In October 2008 she gave her role debut as Brünnhilde (Walküre) at Staatstheater Cottbus. At the Nationale Reisopera in Enschede she sang Turandot. She was re-invited to sing Leonore (Fidelio) there in 2009. In December 2009 she sang Foreign Princess (Rusalka) at Oper Graz.

In March 2010 she sang the title role of Elektra at Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. In May 2011 she guested as Foreign Princess (Rusalka) at Semperoper Dresden. From 2011 on she is going to be all three Brünnhildes in the new Ring cycle at Opernhaus Halle and in Ludwigsburg. 

Lisa Livingston sings also a vast Italian repertoire such as Leonora in La Forza del Destino, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, Elisabetta in Don Carlos, Maddalena in Andrea Chenier, as well as roles of the German repertoire (Leonore-Fidelio, Salome, Senta in Der fliegende Holländer, Ariadne, Die Kaiserin in Frau ohne Schatten and Chrysothemis in Elektra).

Lisa Livingston impresses with her versatility: As soprano soloist in War Requim by  Benjamin Britten at the Bodenseefestival convincing as well as with Das Klagende Lied by Mahler and the Vier letzte Lieder by Richard Strauss at the opening concert of the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. She sang Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Hungarian Festival Symphony Orchestra and worked also with the Opera Orchestra of New York. Lisa Livingston appeared, among others, as soloist at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos. In further performances she performed with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra.
