The Soprano of Swedish-Egyptian descent Hélène Lindqvist had her first voice lessons in Stockholm with Düselius in Stockholm. She completed her vocal studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and continued at the University for Music and Theatre in Saarbrücken. She attended masterclasses with Eva Marton, Kammersänger Bernd Weikl and Jessica Cash.
While still at the conservatory she won First Prize at the international lied competition
„Concerto delle donne“ in Kassel.
At Staatsoper Hamburg Hélène Lindqvist sang the roles of Fortuna and Damigella in L‘incoronazione di Poppea by Claudio Monteverdi under the baton of Alessandro de Marchi.
While member at the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken she sang, a.o., Ilia in Idomeneo, Ännchen in Freischütz as well as the soprano part in Ligeti’s Aventures et Nouvelles Aventures.
With Theater Ulm and Theater Regensburg Hélène Lindqvist sang Tatjana in Eugene Onegin and Gilda in Rigoletto. At Theater Ulm she sang also two Mozart roles, Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio and Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro. She also sang there Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia and the title role in Alcina by Handel.
The choreographic interpretation of Pierrot Lunaire by Arnold Schönberg was very well received, also outside Ulm.
Hélène Lindqvist especially loves the composers of her home Sweden. The CD phoenix ensemble #1 vor (Valve-Hearts) showed a selection of lieder of the Swedish composer Gunnar de Frumerie. The laber col-legno and the radio station Deutschlandfunk recorded Alban Berg’s Jugendlieder. The Neue Zeitschrift für Musik called it an „exemplary interpretation.“
She also recorded Gustav Mahler’s 4th Symphony with Taschenphilharmonie under Peter Stangel for the label NEOS.
In 2012 the label Label CPO will publish the first recording of lieder by the Brahms friend Heinrich von Herzogenberg.
Hélène Lindqvist presents under www.Artsong-project.com unknown art songs. In the first six months the site had more than 11.000 hits.
